LIAG Literary Challenge

The Long Island Authors Group (LIAG) has been promoting reading and writing in the community
ever since our first book fair event in 2008. One of our proudest activities is our LIAG Literary Challenge.

 The 2023 Literary Challenge has now been awarded...

 

The Long Island Authors Group (LIAG) has been promoting reading and writing in the community ever since our first book fair event in 2008. One of our proudest activities is our LIAG Literary Challenge. The 2022 Literary Challenge is now underway.

  • The topic theme is to write about an experience you had in nature on Long Island, be it a visit to a park, arboretum, garden setting, ocean, shoreline, pond or stream or an activity that brought you close to nature.

  • Use descriptions of your five senses-seeing, hearing, smell, taste and touch to convey the impact of the experience.

  • Entry should be between 250-500 words (words such as a, an, the not counted).

  • Utilize 12 font, One-inch margins, Standard Formatting, Double Space.

  • Be sure to use proper capitalization, appropriate spelling and grammar.

  • Email entries to: liagessay@gmail.com.

  • Essay challenge form must accompany each entry.

  • Prizes: 1st place $300 2nd place $200 3rd place $100.
