Dr. David B. Axelrod, who served as Suffolk County, Long Island's Poet Laureate (2007-2009), maintains a web site at www.poetrydoctor.org, where he offers his educational and editorial services to the public. Dr. Axelrod has been published in hundreds of magazines and anthologies.
He is the recipient of three Fulbright Awards including his being the first official Fulbright Poet-in-Residence in the People's Republic of China. He has performed at the United Nations and for the American Library Association and shared the stage in performance with such notables as Louis Simpson, Allen Ginsberg, William Stafford, Robert Bly, X. J. Kennedy and Galway Kinnell. His poetry has been translated and published in fourteen languages.
