I Want to Take You Everywhere
This raw, heartfelt debut poetry collection captures the experiences of a young queer relationship. A shocking start of "I only like macho men in high heels & chiseled corsets" alludes that standard gender roles and sexualities will not come into play in Manzolillo's work. She exhibits intimacy, both physically and emotionally, as an experience that is surreal as much as it is tangible. Manzolillo reaches into the depths of the human soul and takes all that we are too frightened to share aloud to then splatter unapologetically onto the page. This collection shows that the strongest voice is one that is sensitive and vulnerable. Combining the traditional poetic forms with the experimental; from alliterating sequential titles like Forbidden Fantasy Foreplay to writing in braille. Manzolillo takes the reader's hand and shows them the full spectrum of love—both the good and the bad.
