Andrea Peponakis is a retired foreign language high school teacher who went on to become a local newspaper journalist and radio talk show host. Born and raised in Astoria, Queens and on Long Island, Andrea is now focusing on writing children's books. She is a storyteller whose heart lives in the space where memories become magic.
A devoted Long Island grandmother, she draws her greatest inspiration from her three grandchildren who fill her world with laughter, curiosity, and endless love. Their presence sparked her Grandma, Grandma, Tell Me More and For Eternity children's series, a collection of books that honors the timeless bond between generations and has touched readers at major literary events, including the London Book Fair, the LA Times Festival of Books, and on a billboard in Times Square.
Andrea's writing blends tenderness with simplicity, offering families stories that feel familiar, comforting, and lasting. Her work is rooted in her belief that the moments we share—big or small—become the memories our loved ones carry forward.
She is also a columnist for The Three Tomatoes, a digital lifestyle magazine for women 55 and over, where her "Spotlight on Long Island" column features remarkable women.
Whether writing books or uplifting the stories of others, Andrea's mission is the same: to help families feel seen, connected, and loved—today and for eternity.
